Floods and Funerals

Today we farewelled Mike. The service was lovely, very moving, and a fitting farewell to such a lovely man, loving husband, and wonderful father. On the way we were trying to explain it all to Austin, he didn't really understand why we have a 'party' for someone once they are dead, and was very worried that we hadn't been able to say goodbye to him before he passed away. We explained that a funeral is also so we can show the people who are left behind that we love them and will help them however we can. His biggest concern about their wellbeing is that without a daddy there will be no-one around to fix things when they break. He really is such a funny little thing, he has a big heart that boy!

Meanwhile, QLD is underwater. I am quite worried about my friends and family. I know that Mum, Dad and Eddie are ok, not sure about Chris, he is a lot more low-lying and closer to the water. Toowoomba flooded today, the water was flowing down the streets looking like rapids, now all that water is cascading towards ipswich, and the dam, which is already at 140% capacity. They are desperately dumping water out of the dam, and there are king tides expected in a few days, not helpful at all. I hope everyone is safe!

Scary times....
